No other place in Spain lives and breathes art to the same degree as Cadaques. For more than a century and a half this small, isolated point on the coast of the Alt Emporda has attracted nationally and internationally reknown artists. At one time or another, Cadaques has played host to Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso, Marcel Duchamp and Richard Hamilton. All found inspiration here in a village and landscape which continue to energise the more than 60 artists who currently live and work in Cadaques.
Welcome to our Cadaqués Property Guide, with loads of really useful tips on buying, renting or selling a property in Cadaques.
The village of Cadaques is forever linked with the name of Salvador Dali, the world-famous surrealist artist who lived and worked in Port Lligat for a large part of his life. The property, a collection of fisherman's houses converted into a single, maze-like, residence, is now the Casa Museu Salvador Dali, and is open to the public for most of the year.
Our magazine was first published in 2014. It was well received by both advertisers and readers. The following year, 2015, we did it again, but with some improvements: a slightly more up-to-date design of the inner pages, a glossier finish, and various other small tweaks. Perhaps the most important change was the decision to publish a single edition instead of two. Again the magazine was well received by visitors and residents. However, it never made a lot of money! So, since then we have concentrated our efforts on this website.
In 2024 we are hoping to publish a paper edition again! Covid forced us to suspend the publication of the new Made by Cadaqués in 2020 and 2021. However, we hope to be able to publish the magazine in 2024. With a renewed design, more content and a circulation of 4,000 copies, it will be printed at the beginning of the year and will be in town for Easter, just in time for the start of the season.
Welcome to the website of the Made by Cadaqués magazine. Our goal is that the website is very useful for all people who enjoy, in some way, our beautiful town. We warn you that this site is still a work in progress. Throughout 2021 we will add more sections, more photos, more maps. In general, more of everything.
Currently we have published sections on shops, restaurants and local information. In this last section we are going to publish the information you need if you have never been to Cadaqués before and want a quick introduction to the different areas of the town, its history, its landscapes and beaches. It also has a practical visitor's guide with information on what to wear, contact numbers for emergency services, doctors, the location of chemists...
