Cadaques is a small town that attracts many people, especially in the summer months. If you come by car it can sometimes be a bit difficult to find a place to park. Here we explain the best places to park in Cadaqués.
The main car park
At the entrance of the town is the main car park in Cadaqués, a paid car park managed by the Saba company.
Although it is large, unfortunately in summer the parking lot can fill up quickly and sometimes there are queues of more than 40 vehicles to find a place, something that ends up causing retentions at the entrance to the town. Still it is the preferred option of the city council, that tries to reduce the number of cars that enter the center of the town.
The parking lot of the campsite / cemetery
A large dirt car park located next to the Cadaqués cemetery and in front of the campsite. It is a free car park and you will almost always find a place here except on the busiest days of August. Although the parking seems far from the center of town, you can actually go down to the promenade in just over 5 minutes. On the return it will take a little longer because it is all up. From this car park it takes us about 5 minutes on foot to reach Salvador Dalí's house in Port Lligat.
Port Lligat - parking
If you want to visit Salvador Dalí's house, there is a dirt parking behind the Port Lligat beach. It is about 100 meters from the parking lot to the house-museum. It is the favorite place for people who come by motorhome or van since overnight stays are allowed.
You can also park on the street, specifically on Avinguda Paratge S'Alqueria that goes down from S'Alqueria to the beach. For many visitors it is the easiest option and a place is usually found here, even in summer. From Port Lligat to the center of Cadaqués it is a 15-minute walk.
La Riera
Free parking is allowed in the upper part of the stream every day except Monday when the weekly market is held in the town. An important warning: it is a good idea to keep an eye on the weather forecast before parking here because a lot of water can run down the stream if it rains heavily.
Ros's parking lot
The small parking lot behind Ros beach seems to have closed for good. A shame.
One last tip
